AI is a hot topic, and is proving to be very divisive. Because of the tension around AI use in game development, we at StariumXCV want to be very clear about our use of AI. We don’t use it, and we are committed to not using it.

This is a pretty easy stance for us to take. Most of StariumXCV’s development happened before AI tools were available, so the vision for the game never included AI. We did experiment with AI tools when they were still pretty new, but we found that they didn’t really work for us. A lot of people have worked on StariumXCV over the years, and we don’t want their contributions to be undermined by the connotations that come with AI these days.

StariumXCV is a human-made project, with plenty of real sweat and tears. We want to keep it that way. The human perspective is a crucial part of art. StariumXCV is the result of human experiences collaboratively coming together to create something, and we love that. We want that to be StariumXCV’s story forever.
