We’ve been working on some systems that have needed real attention, and work we’ve been chipping away at for a while is really clicking into place.

Empire Creation

Getting into a game has been completely reworked. Empire creation carries a lot of information, and getting that presented in a way that feels welcoming rather than overwhelming took some time. The flow feels good now, onboarding feels fun and intuitive, and we’re really satisfied with where this landed.

The Object Map

The object map is the most complete it has ever been. A lot of foundational work went into getting here, and we’re glad to have it in such good shape. This is one of those things that makes everything else we are building easier and faster.

Armies and Leaders

We’ve been working on how players interact with units and how all of that information gets displayed. There’s a lot to show, and we want it to feel easy to navigate. It’s a system players will spend a lot of time in, and we want it to feel good to use. We are tackling the mobile view first, and fitting everything onto a smaller screen has been no small feat.

What’s Next

We’re turning our attention to solar systems and orbits. We’re aiming for more simulation in how orbits work and move. Nothing is going to be to scientific scale, but it should look really good. We’re also continuing work on the area menu, with production and shipyards up next on the list.

We are moving at a good pace and excited to show you what’s next.
